BROWNIES FROM THIRD SPACE

Brownies

Another delectable treat that Bailey Morris, owner of Third Space, was gracious enough to share from her family cookbook is her Brownies. The acme of simplicity, they are a perennial favorite at Third Space. Get there early to enjoy hers or make them yourself.

Yield: 4–6 servings • Prep: ~10 min • Cook: ~35-40 min • Cuisine: American • Category: Dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 sticks salted butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose OR gluten free flour

Directions

  1.  Melt the butter and chocolate together until smooth, then add the cocoa powder until dissolved.  Set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer, whip the eggs and sugars until pale brown, about 1-2 minutes on high speed.
  3. SLOWLY pour in the melted chocolate mixer, careful not to cook the eggs, and the vanilla. Continue mixing until fully combined.
  4. Fold in the flour, and optionally add chocolates chips or chopped nuts!
  5. Spread evenly on a well greased 9x9 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.  Let fully cool before cutting. ENJOY!
